Noisy Albert Rd Clinic update

Dear Neighbors,

I hope this email finds you well. I am pleased to be writing with good news today. The process to begin our transition back to mains power has begun with an expected cessation of use of the large generators on April 25th. The plan to transition the Clinic back to mains power has the following steps:

  • The Clinic will ramp down patient numbers to a minimum next week, with the majority of the Clinic shutting from Friday April 25th.
  • We will be utilising 2 small generators onsite within the clinic grounds to power one ward and essential services during the closure. These are similar small generators to the initial period of the flood, which did not cause a major disturbance to the surrounding buildings.
  • Over the course of the weekend we will have a significant number of trades onsite preparing and commissioning the new switchboard.
  • CitiPower are booked to re-energise the switchboard on Monday 28 April
  • We will see patients readmitted and normal work at the Clinic resume on Monday.

There is not expected to be any further generator noise after the main compound is switched off mid morning on the 25th. We will have some minor traffic disruption in Bowen Lane when we move the generators and fuel tanks – the date for this is not finalised but I will advise when it is confirmed, we expect it to be completed before the Clinic reopens on Monday 28 April.

Please note that with the weather expected to change over the Easter weekend, we have booked the generator company to attend site to rehang the acoustic curtains on Saturday. They should remain in place until the generators are switched off on Friday according to the current weather forecast.

While we understand that the generators have caused inconvenience for you and the residents of your buildings, we do thank you for your willingness to work with us as we navigated this complex and unexpected situation. We have continued to be able to serve our community in providing essential mental health care through keeping the Clinic operational during this time.

I hope you all enjoy your Easter.

Thank you once again for your patience and support.

Regards,
