Footpath works – August 21st Update
Details of the revised footpath / comms work are in attached flyer from Metro Rail – it seems that the work will now go for 6 weeks and will involve THREE days of driveway access issues. This was the first we knew about this and we’ve asked for clarification.
Works starts next Monday August 28
Quick update
What’s going on?
Out the front they are moving services (mainly telco) from close to the road to nearer our wall. It has been delayed and so we asked that they remove the fence and make our roadside parking bays available until they need the area. Means it is a bit messy but better than leaving the fence in place. Once that work gets going again they will need to block our car park for a morning
In Bowen Crescent most of the work relates to new gas pipes. It should not cause any access issues but if you have problems, please politely ask them to move their gear.
There is also new fibre optic cable being run down Bowen Crescent and under St Kilda Rd.
I expect Bowen Cres to be a mess for a few weeks

Thanks to the several people who spotted the deliberate error in the last post – the AGM is on Tuesday September 12
Metro Rail coming to the AGM
I can confirm that we will have reps from Metro Rail at the AGM on Tuesday September 12.
All the details are yet to be confirmed but it will be a short walk from here at start at around 6pm.

Myki – Something I didn’t know
I’ve recently ‘upgraded’ to a Seniors Myki, which meant I did some reading on the Myki site. I discovered this gem…
Why does the information displayed on the reader vanish too quickly for me to read it?
The information showing your card balance, and the amount deducted for your journey, will be displayed for as long as you hold your card to the reader, so hold it up for longer if you want to check that information.
So hold your Myki on the reader and WAIT…it stays on the display. Of course its not a great idea to do this in busy times. Give it a go
Update on footpath work

This means the driveway is OK tomorrow and car parking out the front should be back to ‘normal’
Gas works in Bowen Cres from Friday
See attached the formal notice for this work that starts on Friday

Non residents of Botanica heading eastwards in Bowen Cres are to be diverted, you will simply need to talk to the traffic people to be let through
The disabled bay near our Bowen Cres carpark will be kept available – you may need to ask the traffic person on duty for help if you need it (and no-one else is parked in it)
Car park work postponed
We have just been notified that the work will NOT occur tomorrow. Access in and out of the lower car park will be normal tomorrow – no need to move your car
Apologies for late notice – I believe that something is being placed on cars in car park too
Once we have another date, we will let you know
Carpark access limited TOMORROW
There will be no access in and out of the lower car park tomorrow (Thursday) between 9am and 3pm.
