Jan attended the CRG meeting in my absence – here are her notes
FYI. These are my notes from yesterday morning’s Domain Precinct Community Reference Group meeting. I’ve listed the main points made by each presenter that are of most relevance to Botanica.
John Goding & David Glossop, Cross Yarra Partnership: current & upcoming works update
Southern box – approx 2 wks behind schedule
David O’Shaughnessy, Cross Yarra Partnership: public submission & design process update
Simon Adams, Rail Projects Victoria: tram noise update
Brian Maddock, Yarra Trams
Question time – some relevant issues raised
Hope some of this is of interest.
Regards,
Jan
I gather there has been lots of action at The Botanica…I’ve given up for now and enjoying some European sunshine and some peace (except for noisy French and English fans). If you want to follow that blog then go here
Here are the official noise figures for May 2018, June figures will arrive shortly
from Gary in London….been to visit Crossrail here, v interesting
CYP will be putting out a notification shortly about the rail grinding to take place this week, which they hope will reduce the noise emitted from the tram.
Yarra Trams have confirmed that they will be undertaking these works on Thursday 28 June andSunday 1 July.
These works will take place at night, between 11pm and 5am, to avoid disruption to trams services. They are expected to generate high levels of noise.

We now have regularly reporting from CYP on the noise levels recorded at The Botanica. See attached the report for April and May. There is a gap when the machine failed for several days, this has now been fixed.
It also highlights their contractual obligations.

Unlike the previous public info sessions, on this occasion RPV, YT and CYP will be giving a formal presentation with an opportunity for questions.
I have been told by many of you that the tram squeal is terrible. I have advocated on your behalf and some actions are underway to remedy the situation….BUT now it is up to you

The CYP construction team have said that they will be removing the two trees outside 390 St Kilda Road on 30 June.
The other five outside The Botanica are pending some traffic management details (they need to occupy the footpath for safety reasons) and will be July/August.
Formal update to come later
Pink dots on the trees are placed on trees to be removed a couple of days before removal
