Thanks to the 18 people who have already done the survey – please do it as soon as you can.
I’m very happy for multiple people from one apartment to complete the survey.

I’m very happy for multiple people from one apartment to complete the survey.
Good Afternoon everyone,
Hope everyone had a great week, below is a wrap-up of construction activities happening on-site next week.
Surface Works
Starting in the south of the site today, the clear out of the surface has opened up the site of the future ventilation structures. The first of the pre-case segments for these ventilation structures are expected at the end of August. Preparation will begin next week to get these areas ready for pre-cast installation.
D-wall demolition started alongside these structures this week, but will now pause to allow works to commence to expose the delayed pour strip section.
Those at the southern end of the site may have noticed that there is a loose pit lid in the middle of the road that is making a clunking sound as cars drive over it. We have applied for a permit to close St Kilda Road southbound for a period of time and fix this pit lid during the evening – the earliest this will be able to occur is at the back end of next week. We’ll send around a separate note once we’ve got approval to close the lane and carry out the works.
Moving up to the middle section of the site, backfilling is almost complete adjacent to the entrance canopy and adjacent to the access road across the site. The completion of this backfill will allow the access road across site to be shifted slightly and on Thursday and Friday next week the team will begin the excavation and d-wall demolition for the small remaining section that sat underneath the site access road.
Elsewhere along the edge of site, surface preparations are underway for the construction of the new road surface that will run alongside Melbourne Grammar School. Later this year the south bound lane of St Kilda Road will be switched over to this side of the site, preparations are now underway for these road works to commence.
On the topic of road works – if you’ve walked along the side of the of the site on the Shrine side of St Kilda Road, you might have noticed quite a bit of activity up where the project site sheds used to be. If you’re particularly eagle-eyed you may have also noticed that the first of the legacy Copenhagen style separated bike lanes has now been installed. While perhaps not as grand as the station canopy, this is a small but significant milestone, as sections of the final road design begin to be put in place.

Over on Park Street progress has been less prolific, CitiPower have advised us that they have encountered some unexpected issues with the HV conduits that were to be connected. As a result, next week they will be removing the barriers on the roadway and reinstating the left turn into Park Street from St Kilda Road. The same site setup will be re-established later once CitiPower have resolved the issue. We’ll provide more information in the coming weeks as CitiPower advise on the timing.
Anzac Station entrance construction – Tram Interchange
The roof cladding on the top of the station is now complete, those with a view over the site may have seen some of the skylight frames lowered onto the roof last week and then removed to rectify some issues that were identified. The installation will recommence next week. In addition to the skylight installation profile fascia will also begin to be installed around the perimeter next week.
We mentioned in last weeks update that the trenching and installation of the conduits has begun. This work will ramp up significantly over the coming weeks and in two weeks time these works will extend out until 10pm on certain nights. The laying of conduits will involve the use of a small excavator to dig a shallow trench, with the drainage pipes and conduits progressively laid in the pits as the excavator makes its away along the platform, before being backfilled. We’ll have more information about these works in next weeks update.
Station box construction
Underground, the progress has been steady, with the topping slabs being poured on top of the precast sections of the station platform. Almost the entire southern half of the station platform has now been poured, with works now commencing at the northern end of the platform. In other milestones ductwork is being installed next week alongside the over-track exhaust pre-cast, while both the northern and southern fire escape stairs are now complete and is being used for access from the concourse level down on to the platform.

Sometimes I get information that I cannot put on the blog because the blog is too open to the public. In those cases I try and work out other ways to share the information.
If this is too cryptic for you then catch the lift to the basement and then back to your floor 😉
Thanks to all who have done the survey

Each year we survey the owners and renters in the building. It should only take 10-15 minutes
At the start of this year’s survey, there is a link to the results of earlier surveys
After talking to City of PP and the Site Manager about yesterday’s debacle, my best summary is
Good news is
Bad news – they will be closing the street 6 more times before the project ends
Good evening everyone,
Happy Friday to you all. We hope that you have a had a great week.
Below is a summary of construction activities coming up in the week to come.
Surface Works
You may have noticed at the northern end of site, where our site sheds were recently removed, drainage and roadworks are underway.
As we mentioned last week, this will prepare the southbound lane of St Kilda Road between Dorcas and Bromby streets towards recommissioning and will form the next stage of the southbound lane realignment.
With last week’s smooth switch of the southbound lane on St Kilda Road, work has now commenced for teams to access and complete the next section of D-wall removal in the south.
Over the coming week this will include removing the asphalt, excavating the top surface layers back to the roof slab, exposing the delayed pour strips, followed by the installation of steel reinforcements.
Just to the north, work is continuing waterproofing completed segments of completed D-wall.
This Monday 8 August is an RDO with most of the site being inactive however a small team will be undertaking waterproofing in this zone.
Station box construction
Underneath the surface on the train station platform level, concrete pours continue next week, progressively moving from north to south.
The emergency egress fire escape stairs in the south are now complete, ventilation fans have been installed and acoustic panelling in the service rooms are steadily reaching towards completion.
Anzac Station entrance construction – Tram Interchange
On the roof of the tram interchange platform, roof cladding, canopy guttering and skylight installations will continue next week.
Underneath the canopy and along the eastern side of the platform, you will see in the attached image where the team have been trenching, waterproofing and installing conduits, that will house communication lines for future audio bollards, Myki machines and tram platform communications. Installation of this communication services infrastructure will continue over the next week.
Citipower’s HV works will also continue next week on Park St and at the entrance to the Shrine of Remembrance with the current pedestrian and road changes in place over the past few days continuing next week as shown in the attached map. A reminder that CitiPower operate under a separate permit to the Metro Tunnel works and as a result are subject to different standard working hours which may include some weekend or out of hour works. Citipower will provide separate notification of their works occurring over the next month. We will continue to keep you informed as we are made aware of their works.
Have a great weekend ahead.
Best regards, Rob and Christian

At last night’s AGM it was noted that the wall of 1 Bowen Cres looked less than ideal.
Can anyone who faces that wall send me photos of the wall and attached ‘trellis’ please. Email to buckgw@gmail.com
See attached details below but important to note that the very noisy 24-hour works will now almost certainly be from November 27 until December 16
This came through yesterday – a noisy week ahead

Good morning everyone,
Apologies for the late weekly look ahead
We hope everyone has had a great week and you had a chance to enjoy some of the sunshine today.
Below is a wrap-up of construction activities happening on-site next week.
Surface Works
The big change out on site is the newly minted section of road across the site at the southern end. We’ve included a photo of the new road in action. After a false start on Tuesday, we managed to get the works complete on Wednesday and Thursday night and the road was opened in the early hours today. The only final piece of work that will be required is to place some concrete barriers that didn’t make it last night and investigate a fix on what appears to be a loose pit lid. We’ll be doing this next and we estimate it should only take from around 9pm to 11pm to complete. The St Kilda Road southbound lane closure will be back in effect. Once the evening is confirmed I’ll send out a separate note.
With this new section of road now in place, we’ll start breaking out the old redundant road lane to expose the D-wall that sits underneath. This will effectively kick off the same construction sequence that has been happening over the past few months:
The section of the D-wall in the middle of site was removed this week – we used a wire saw on this section as we had access to both sides of the wall. This significantly sped up the process when it came time to break out this section of the wall and reduced the extent of disruption. In this middle section it leaves us just one small section that currently sits underneath the access road across the site.
Moving entirely up the other end of the site to the north, you may have noticed that our the site sheds on St Kilda Road adjacent to the shrine grounds have now gone. The team in this area are starting the work to prepare this road to come back into commission and act as the new southbound lane, which will continue through the existing site along the edge of Melbourne Grammar School.
The purpose of the road lane shuffling is to give the team access to get started on surface works prepare for the construction of the future tram alignment within the site boundary.
Next week will also see the start of works on Park Street to connect the new high voltage cable underneath St Kilda Road. You can see the setup on the map. It will require a bit of a pedestrian detour down Park Street while we have a pit opened up across the road. These works were going to start on Monday, but CitiPower have advised today that they’ll likely kick off the road closure on Wednesday.
Anzac Station entrance construction – Tram Interchange
The newest addition to the quickly evolving canopy structure is the skylights, the aim this week is to get 4 of the 14 skylights completed. Next week will also see the addition of the roof cladding panels, these will cover up the drainage trays and wet fire services that have been installed over the past few weeks. As we mentioned last week, the kiosk is now really starting to take shape and we’re almost ready for the roof installation to take place. Friday afternoon the team were putting up scaffolding around the kiosk to provide worker access.
Station box construction
Down on the platform and concourse levels of the station it is largely business as usual. Down at the platform level the first ‘topping slabs’ have been poured on the platforms. The topping slabs are poured in sections on top of the installed pre-cast sections and like the precast segments themselves, the pours progressively move from south to north as the platform moves forward. Up on the concourse level the last of the ventilation fans have been installed at the southern end of the station, this area is really starting to resemble its final configuration. The same ventilation setup will be installed in the northern section, and it is also starting to take shape as all the northern back-of-house rooms continue to get built up.
Thanks, Rob and Christian
