The Plane Trees outside The Botanica were removed today – very sad
Here are a couple of videos

I attended the Community Reference group (CRG) meeting on Wednesday – here is a pack of the info presented. Domain-CRG-Presentation-30-May-2018
I’ll put up some more notes later but the main takeaways are
We did also discuss the tram squeal issue – it has been escalated and they now realise that it is having a massive impact on all local residents

As a nearby owner, I have today received a pack of information about the impending demolition of 412 St Kilda Rd.
This is the letter

The latest news I have indicates that we will lose the trees outside Botanica on Saturday morning. They may start as early as 7am
I find the exit from Bowen Cres to St Kilda Rd still confusing…do you??
Here is a video
The answer is that to turn left into the city…first move right!! The other left turn does not get to St Kilda Rd
You have to laugh
The latest is as follows:
RPV/Yarra Trams/CYP have run a full review of all the documentation associated with the build and cross checked it with new measurements taken on the tracks as built.
There is no clear defect or construction issue that would cause the level of noise that you’re currently experiencing.
Yarra Trams are in the process of putting together a trial of the potential application of a friction modifier to the rails to see if that has any effect on the noise levels.
We’re just waiting on confirmation on the timing of the trial. The trial will establish if the product is a safe and efficient solution going forward.
We’ll update when we have more detail on the timing of the trial.

Tram noise update
This has just come through
Just an update on the tram noise issue as promised:
On a lighter note…..Some of the more diligent readers of the letterbox flyers will have noticed that “luminaries” are to be hung from the poles in our area. We were stunned and thought that they would be hanging luminaires – if anyone has suggestions for luminaries to be hung, please add a comment to the blog.

Wow – the blog typically has around 500 views per month (15-20 per day), but this month it has hit the magic 1000 views in the month. Not bad since there is only 58 apartments!!
Thanks – I will take that as meaning that people are getting some value from the site. Suggestions welcome
Thanks all
